From my experience, the best way you can learn something better and become the best in something is through these 3 words:
Replicate to iterate.
You need to replicate what others are doing, then iterate on top of that.
Understand the ins and outs of the field understand why people are learning it understand what you can do to become better understand what competitive advantage you have understand what skills you can stack so you'll be the best
Before trying to iterate, replicate first.
One example: You can't become a good artist if you don't know what makes up a good artist.
Does it mean you only have to be good at painting?
Do you need to understand human anatomy and perspective to create realistic figures?
Or is mastering color theory and composition the key to impactful artwork?
Learn everything about a good artist to become the best artist. Iterate. Gain feedback. Iterate.
